The Poughkeepsie Cannon disbanded in 2018. While we were in operation, this small production company focused on engaging with the local community as a media creator through promotion and advocacy.
We had the privilege of hearing stories from folks across the political, racial, and economic spectrum. Our aim was to produce material that was fun and uplifting, while also engaging with local political issues, giving voice to perspectives that went unrepresented in the local media.
Poughkeepsie is a town of 30,000 people with an infinite number of worlds to discover. Producing these videos, we barely scratched the surface. If we were to do it again, the only change we'd make is to drop one of the middle 'n's. 'Canon' is better.
